Real Estate Transactions & Risk Counsel — Arizona

Experienced legal review before a deal closes — drawing on sixteen-plus years of in-house corporate counsel judgment.
Overview

Not every real estate matter needs a courtroom. Patrick provides transaction-stage counsel for investors, developers, and businesses who want experienced legal review before a deal closes — not after it goes wrong.

His sixteen-plus years as in-house corporate counsel give him the business-minded perspective to distinguish genuine legal risk from noise — and to advise clients on when to push, when to accept, and when to walk.

The firm is intentionally selective about transactional engagements. The goal is to be the lawyer who reads the deal carefully, flags what matters, and stays available if the transaction later becomes a dispute.

How we approach it

A disciplined, strategy-first method.

(01)

Identify the deal-breakers early

Diligence is most valuable when it surfaces hard issues before earnest money is at risk. We push for the difficult conversations up front.

(02)

Negotiate the contract that gets litigated

Every transaction document is read twice: once to close the deal, once to imagine the dispute that might follow. We draft for both.

(03)

Stay engaged after closing

If a transaction matter later becomes a dispute, having the same lawyer who negotiated the contract is a significant advantage.

Frequently asked

Questions clients often ask.

Do you only handle litigation?
No. Patrick handles selected transactional matters — typically where the client wants the same lawyer who would litigate the deal to also negotiate it.
Can you work alongside our existing broker or title company?
Yes. The firm routinely coordinates with brokers, escrow officers, title insurers, and lenders. Our role is legal review, not deal management.
What size deals do you typically engage on?
Most engagements involve transactions or contracts where the financial exposure is between $50,000 and $10 million.
